Karla Del Grande

Karla won the Ontario Masters Athlete of the Year award in 2003, 2004, and 2005. -broke World Record in W55 400m Indoors in Feb. 2009 – ranked 1st in world in 2009 in W55 100 and 200 metres, and was 2/100ths off the WR for the 100. – holds Canadian Records in 50, 60, 200 and 400 Indoors in W50 and W55. Formerly held World Record in W50 400 Indoors (broke it 3 times). – holds Canadian Records in 100, 200 and 400 Outdoors in W50, and in 100 and 200 in W55, and part of several relay team Canadian records in 4 by 100 and 4 by 400. – since beginning in Masters Track in 2003, has earned 4 silver medals, and 9 gold medals at World Championships, including 2 Golds in the World Championships in Lahti Finland in July 2009. Also finalist in other World Championship races with 4th in 2009, and 5th and 6th place finishes in 2007. – chosen as the Etobicoke Huskies Masters Athlete of the Year in 2003, 2004, and 2006, and in 2005, was the Female Athlete of the Year. – in 2006, chosen as the North/Central/Caribbean region of the WMA Female Masters Athlete of the Year, and was inducted into the Ontario Masters Hall of Fame (after winning the Female Masters of the Year Award in 2003, 2004, and 2005). – Ontario Masters Female Track Athlete of the Year in 2008.
